TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

ESTIMATE

We are able to provide an estimate based on the information that you provide to us.  Please ensure that you are accurate with your information i.e. access conditions at both pickup and delivery addresses and disclose any difficult / heavy items such as pianos. Failure to disclose heavy items may result in the inability to complete your move.

 

LOGISTICS

We reserve the right to increase the number of people for the move (than what was originally indicated) to ensure an effective removal of your personal belongings. An additional $20 per hour will be charged for an additional person.  We will endeavour to communicate with you if we feel an additional person would be beneficial for your move.

It is your responsibility to see to it that our staff have exclusive and unhindered access to your residence during loading and unloading.

If either of your addresses are located in an apartment block with elevator access, please reserve elevators and elevator keys as required prior to the arrival of our staff for loading and unloading.

It is your responsibility to have your driveway clear or a parking spot available for the moving truck such that the end of the truck’s ramp is positioned for best access both at the loading and unloading location.  Please notify us of any difficulties at any load and unload addresses.

In situations where the truck is unattended during loading and/or unloading we will not be liable for any thefts by third parties as this is beyond our control.  Where your load or unload location might be considered a security risk we suggest that you have someone wait with the truck.

Downtime occurring as a result of delays caused by circumstances outside of the control of Simpson Movers will be charged at the same rate as the labour rate for your move.  Such an example of this is not being able to gain access at the destination address due to delayed property settlements.

INSURANCE

We will endeavour to take the greatest care of your furniture and belongings, however they are to be carried at the owner’s own risk.

This means Simpson Movers or their contractors are not liable for damage e.g. scratches, broken items, loss of goods or any electrical appliances that may not work after installation.  Any items packed by the client will not be insured.  We recommend that you check with your insurer that your contents insurance policy covers relocations.  Many insurance companies do not include moving insurance in their policy and a separate policy needs to be purchased.

CHANGING YOUR MOVE DATE

We require your change of move date submitted to us no less than 48 hours of the original move date by phoning 020 4160 0650.

PAYMENT

Unless otherwise agreed, payment should be made by:

  • Cash – on completion of job
We reserve the right to oncharge penalty fees and/or collection charges in the event of late/unpaid accounts.
